Srinagar, Jan 04: Chairman of Peoples Democratic Front and former minister, Hakeem Yaseen on Thursday expressed sorrow and shock over the devastating fire incident in Dar Gali, Kupwara, which destroyed approximately 30 shops. He demanded immediate rehabilitation for the fire victims.
In a statement issued here, Hakeem urged the government to provide adequate compensation to the victims of the fire so that they could be properly rehabilitated. He appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to expedite the rehabilitation process, emphasizing the need to restore the livelihoods of the affected families on a priority basis.
The former minister said the families of the fire victims require assistance on humanitarian grounds. He urged that cumbersome official procedures should not hinder their rehabilitation process. The immediate focus, according to him, should be on providing timely support and relief to those affected by the fire incident.
