H E LG Trophy: Unbeaten zone Qazigund defeats zone Verinag

Srinagar, Sep 26: Department of Youth Services and Sports is organizing the H.E. LG Trophy at different venues for youth figuring from 19 to 35 years of age.
At the sports stadium, Qazigund Zone and Verinag Zone face each other in a league cum knockout tournament in which the toss was won by Zone Verinag.
After winning the toss and as per the pitch condition Verinag elected to bowl first while Zone Qazigund scored 195 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in which Ishtiyaq Gull, Aquib Mohiuddin & Tabraez@Asif Mughal were the leading scorers with 52 of 31 balls, 48 of 27 balls and 47 of 25 balls from the team Qazigund.
While Hilal Bhat from Zone Verinag claimed 2 wickets. Chasing the target of 196 runs Zone Verinag were bundled out at 161 runs and a comfortable win was registered by Zone Qazigund with a margin of 35 runs in which Tajamul with 35 runs of 12 balls was the highest scorer from Zone Verinag, while Sameer Ganie, Wani Irfan, Muneeb Mir were the main bowlers from Zone Qazigund who claimed 2 wickets each. However, Tabreaz@ Asif Mughal was declared Man of the Match for 47 unbeaten of just 25 balls and 1 wicket with Maiden wicket over.
With this win, it was Zone Qazigund who remained unbeaten from Pool-C while both teams also qualified for the Super-8 stage.
It is pertinent to mention that Zone Qazigund makes 4 changes in playing 11 from last winning playing 11 combinations to upgrade its bench strength and similarly Zone Verinag was also playing with few changes from the last match playing 11 team formations.
