Samba, Nov 27: Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari along with senior leaders of his party on Monday paid obeisance at the Gurdwara in Raika Labana village of Ramgarh in District Samba on the eve of the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
He was accompanied by Senior Vice President, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Provincial President Jammu, S. Manjit Singh and other leaders of the Party during his visit to the Gurdwara in Ramgarh.
The Apni Party President paid obeisance at the Gurdwara and participated in Kirtan whereas hundreds of Sikh community members were also present to mark the celebration of Gurupurab.
On this occasion, the Gurdwara Management Committee presented Siropa and Kirpan to Altaf Bukhari sahib as a mark of respect. In his speech, Altaf Bukhari greeted the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Gurupurab and hoped that the auspicious occasion would show the right path to the people across Jammu and Kashmir, the nation and the world.
The teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji are most important in the present times when the world is facing conflicts, said Altaf Bukhari while speaking on the occasion.
Bukhari said “The teachings of Guru Ji are important because the world is in conflict and there is a dire need to have peace at the global level. Contrary to the existing turbulent situation across the world, he recalled how the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji have emerged as a ray of hope for society.”
“These teachings have become more important and emerged as a ray of hope for humankind to spend a peaceful co-existence and promote communal brotherhood among people of different faiths,” he stated, asking the people to follow the footsteps of Sikh Guru Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
He also said that the teachings of Guruji also advocate the empowerment of women and equal rights and help them to have a progressive life while fighting against the harassment they face in society.
He elaborated on how Guru Nanak Dev Ji fought against injustice and inequality in society. “Guru Ji’s fight against injustice brought equality for the neglected class of society religiously and socially. Besides, the teachings also encouraged people to stand against injustice,” he stated.
