The Gulmarg gondola, one of the prime tourist attractions in Kashmir, was kept open on Eid day for the first time in history. This decision was made as a welcoming gesture towards the tourists who visit Ski resort during this festive season.

The Managing Director of JK Cable Car Corporation, Ghulam Jeelani Zargar, informed Rising Kashmir that a large number of tourists would be disappointed as they would not get tickets due to the heavy rush and unexpected demand. However, the management team, under the guidance of the Secretary of Tourism, Abid Rasheed Shah, decided to keep the gondola service operational throughout the day to accommodate the increased footfall.

Tourists from different parts of the country thronged the place to enjoy the breathtaking views of the beautiful Himalayan ranges that can be seen from the gondola. The decision to keep the gondola open on Eid was well-received by the tourists as it gave them a chance to merge joyous festivities with a beautiful spectacle of nature.

The step taken by the management of the Gulmarg gondola is a significant one as it shows how the tourism industry is taking active measures to ensure that visitors have the best experience during their stay. With this decision, the management has proven that tourism in Kashmir is not just restricted to religious or seasonal events, but rather a year-round affair that attracts tourists to witness the beauty of nature and experience different cultures.

The management has shown that Kashmir’s reputation for hospitality is well-deserved by going above and beyond in providing services to their valuable tourists.
