Srinagar, Feb 25: In an effort to facilitate tourists and enhance their experience, the advance booking window for Gulmarg Gondola tickets has been extended from 29 days to 60 days.

As per J&K cable car corporation, tourists can now book their tickets up to two months in advance, ensuring a hassle-free experience while visiting the world-famous ski resort.

Officials said since the booking system operates in the public domain, tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The move has been welcomed by tourists, who often struggle with last-minute availability. “This is a great decision. It gives us enough time to plan our trip without worrying about ticket availability,” said Aditya Sharma, a tourist from Delhi.

In another major development, the Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC) has announced a trial of On Cabin Tickets for Phase 2 of the Gulmarg Gondola, from Kongdoori to Affarwat. The facility will be available from February 27 to March 15, 2025, between 8:15 AM and 9:30 AM at Kongdoori. This initiative follows the successful launch of On Cabin Tickets for Phase 1, which has significantly reduced ticketing hassles.

Managing Director of JKCCC, Syed Qamar Sajad, highlighted the benefits of these initiatives. “For tourists without pre-booked tickets, this is a great relief. It also helps in preventing black marketing and ticket exploitation,” he stated.

Local tourism stakeholders have praised the step, expecting a rise in footfall. “With such tourist-friendly measures, Gulmarg will continue to attract more visitors,” said hotel owner Bashir Ahmad.
