Growth Sports Academy emerges victorious in Kupwara Women’s T-10 Championship

Kupwara, June 13, 2023 – The Kupwara Women’s T-10 Cricket Championship 2023 Season-3, organized by the Indian Army, concluded on Tuesday with an exhilarating final match at Galizoo cricket ground in Kupwara.
The highly anticipated championship, now in its third edition since its inception in 2021, aimed to provide young girls from Kupwara with a platform to exhibit their cricketing prowess. Commencing on May 22, 2023, the tournament saw participation from 20 teams representing various schools and sports academies across the region. The teams comprised talented girls aged between 14 and 25 years.
The final match, witnessed by enthusiastic schoolchildren, fellow teams, local supporters, and media personnel, showcased a thrilling clash between Growth Sports Academy and Shazaan Sports Kupwara. Opting to bat first, Growth Sports Academy set a challenging target of 101 runs, losing 9 wickets. In response, Shazaan Sports fell short, being all-out for 65 runs in 13.3 overs. As a result, Growth Sports Academy emerged victorious by 35 runs, clinching the championship trophy.
Arjuman Yousf of Growth Sports Academy was named the Woman of the Match for her exceptional performance, while Snober Ali of Dream World-11 Alachizab was awarded the prestigious Player of the Series title. Certificates, trophies, and prizes were presented to the winners by senior officials from the civil administration and the Indian Army.
Expressing their gratitude, the participants extended their heartfelt thanks to the Indian Army for providing them with this invaluable opportunity to showcase their talents.
The Kupwara Women’s T-10 Cricket Championship Season-3 undoubtedly served as a stepping stone for aspiring female cricketers, fostering their passion for the sport and inspiring future generations to follow in their footsteps.
