Holds Workers’ Meeting in Parimpora

Srinagar, April 27: The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday launched its campaign for the upcoming Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) elections, with party leaders stressing the need to strengthen grassroots outreach and organisational structure.

 

The Party held a workers’ meeting at Barthana Municipal Ward, Parimpora (Central Shalteng), under the command of former MLA Batamaloo, Noor Mohammad Sheikh.

 

Addressing the gathering, speakers emphasized the need to strengthen grassroots outreach and organizational structure while preparing for the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections.

 

Mohammad Iqbal Tramboo, in his address, said, “The strength of PDP lies in its cadre at the grassroots level. We must intensify our outreach and remain connected with the people to effectively address their concerns and aspirations.”

 

Arif Laigroo highlighted the importance of unity and preparedness, stating, “The upcoming ULB elections are crucial, and we must work collectively with dedication to ensure that PDP emerges stronger. Our focus should remain on public issues and strengthening our presence at every level.”

 

Noor Mohammad Sheikh, while chairing the meeting, reiterated the party’s commitment to public service and said, “PDP has always stood with the people of Jammu & Kashmir in difficult times. It is our responsibility to reconnect with the masses and work tirelessly for their welfare.”

 

On the occasion, the party announced Sameera Akhter as its candidate from Parimpora Ward for the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) elections.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from party workers to strengthen the organization and actively engage with the public at the grassroots level.

 

The meeting witnessed the participation of party spokesperson Mohammad Iqbal Tramboo, former state Secretary and Incharge Habba Kadal Arif Laigroo, District Coordinator Dr. Ali Mohammad Wani, Sheikh Saba, Zone President Ali Mohammad Baba, Ward President Alochibagh Adil Ahmad Rather, Qamarwari Ward President Aijaz Ahmad Kar, along with other senior leaders and party workers.
