Grand finale of ‘Toycathon 2023’ today

Srinagar, Sept 17: State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Jammu and Kashmir is going to conduct the Grand Finale of the “Toycathon 2023” on Monday in Srinagar with theme on “Promotion of innovative ideas and revival of local heritage”.
An official from the JKSCERT told Rising Kashmir that Toycathon 2023 was launched on May 12th, 2023 in which more than 1.25 lakh students from 7,251 government  and government-recognised schools across 20 districts of J&K registered and submitted their ideas.
The selected entries will be evaluated on September 18th, at the Auditorium of the JKSCERT in Srinagar district.
 “Toycathoon 2023 initiative involves three-tier competition starting from school level, district level, and union terrority level.
Toycathon 2023 is conducting this event for the participation of the students in three categories: Category I for 6th–8th, Category II for 9th–10th, and Category III for 11th–12th,” an official said.
 He said the goal of the ‘Toycathon’ is to “explore India’s potential to build and sustain a creative ecosystem for the development of toys and games to celebrate Aatma Nirbhar Bharat.
This initiative aims to capture the innovative prowess of lakhs of students across Jammu and Kashmir.
 The top entries in each category—a total of nine entries from each district—has  been selected for the exhibition at the union territory grand finale. The top three games or toys in each category will be awarded prizes alongside the 15 consolidated prizes in each category and certificates of participation will also be given to each participant,” an official said.
 He said A total of 180 entries in each category have been selected for the Grand Finale exhibition; 90 entries are from Kashmir Division and 90 entries are from Jammu  Division.
 The Advisory of the Lieutenant Governor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Principal Secretary School Education Department Alok Kumar, Director of SCERT J&K Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar will also attend the Grand Finale Exhibition.
