Srinagar, Dec 30: Srinagar, Dec 30: Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism and its supporters during a high-level security review meeting in Srinagar on Monday.
The meeting, held at the SKICC, was attended by senior officials from J&K Police, Army, BSF, CRPF, and other security agencies, along with representatives from the J&K administration.
Mohan directed security forces to remain vigilant and respond swiftly to any threats, emphasizing that no leniency would be shown in dealing with terrorism and its sympathizers. “The safety and peace of our people are paramount. We must stay united and focused on ending terrorism and protecting Jammu and Kashmir from those who seek to cause harm,” he said.
During the meeting, the Union Home Secretary reiterated that the government’s unwavering zero-tolerance policy would continue, stressing the need for decisive and coordinated actions to combat terrorists, their supporters, and anti-national elements in the region.
He further commended the security forces for their effective collaboration, which he noted has been crucial in combating terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. “We need to continue the ‘Area Domination Plan’ and ‘Zero Terror Plan,’ implementing these strategies with greater urgency and focus,” he added.
The meeting also discussed enhancing counter-infiltration measures along the Line of Control (LoC) and preparations to ensure a peaceful Republic Day celebration.
The meeting was attended by the top officers, including General Officer Commanding of Srinagar based Chinar Corps Lt General Prashant Srivastava, GOC of Nagrota-based 16 Corps Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva, Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat, Additional Director General (Law and Order) Vijay Kumar, Additional Director General Jammu, Anand Jain, Inspector General of Police (IGP)-Kashmir, V K Birdi, top officers of Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Intelligence Bureau and other agencies.
Earlier this month, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level security review in New Delhi, where he reiterated the government’s commitment to a ‘terror-free Jammu and Kashmir’ under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
