Srinagar, Nov 23: Reiterating that all aspects are being taken into consideration regarding the declaration of winter vacations in schools, Director School Education Kashmir Tassaduq Hussain on Thursday said that the government is sensitive about the situation and final call on winter vacations will be taken soon.
Talking to media persons, Director education said that while the announcement of winter vacations is on cards, the decision-making process takes into account various factors.
He said that despite the absence of sub-zero temperatures during the day and relatively mild weather conditions in schools, the government is keen on fulfilling the required academic days.
The goal is to achieve 200 academic days for classes 1 to 4 and 220 days for classes 5th onwards, he added.
Balancing these considerations and to address learning gaps, the government is actively working to make a prompt and well-considered decision on winter vacations, he concluded.
“The government is well-informed about the situation, and the students are engaging in games at school in an appropriate manner. The night temperature in Kashmir has decreased during the night hours, but the day temperature in the Kashmir valley remains normal,” he said.
DSEK highlighted the importance of completing the academic session, stating that students must attend 200 institutions days in schools up to the 5th standard, and from 6th class onwards, they must complete 220 institutions days as per the academic session to fulfill all the learning gaps.
He further emphasized the government’s sensitivity towards winter vaccination in schools and assured that a decision will be made accordingly.
