Srinagar, Mar 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Government said on Tuesday that there are currently no plans to construct a Receiving Station in Drung Khag or its surrounding areas, as the region is adequately served by the Suden feeder connected to the Receiving Station at Khag.
Responding to a question posed by MLA Saif-ud-din Bhat during the Assembly session, the minister responsible for the Power Development Department (PDD) indicated that a feasibility study will be conducted regarding the potential construction of a Receiving Station in Drung Khag. Decisions will be made based on the findings of this study.
The minister also said that the establishment of a transformer repair workshop at Bugroo Arigam (Khansahib) is not under consideration, as there are already two workshops operating within the Electric Division of Budgam—located in Chadura and Budgam. The Chadura workshop services the Chadura and Charar-I-Sharief Subdivisions, while the Budgam workshop serves the Budgam, Narbal and Beerwah Subdivisions.
