In a somber ceremony held on Friday, government officials and senior police officers gathered to bid farewell to Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani, who tragically lost his life at the AIIMS in Delhi. Wani succumbed to injuries sustained on October 09 when he was shot at point-blank range while playing cricket in the Eidgah area of the city.
The slain cop was airlifted to Delhi on Wednesday from Paras Hospital Srinagar in an Air Ambulance, where he had been undergoing treatment for the severe injuries inflicted during the heinous incident. The shocking attack had left Inspector Wani seriously injured, and despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he could not overcome the extent of his injuries.
The ceremony, attended by government officials and high-ranking police personnel, served as a poignant moment to honor the sacrifice and dedication of Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani.
