SRINAGAR SEPT 11: =The District Election Officer (DEO) of Srinagar has issued an immediate suspension order for Sarfaraz Ahmad Dar, an Assistant Director in the National Register of Records Office, Srinagar. Dar, who was appointed as Zonal Magistrate for Barzulla Zone in the 23-Chanpora Assembly Constituency, has been suspended due to dereliction of election-related duties.
The DEO’s order states that Dar, despite repeated reminders, failed to perform his responsibilities. Consequently, he has been suspended and attached to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (K), Srinagar, pending further orders.
The order mandates that the Additional Deputy Commissioner (K) conduct a thorough inquiry into Dar’s misconduct and submit a detailed report to the DEO Srinagar within a week. The DEO has issued a warning to all officers and officials involved in the General Elections to Legislative Assembly-2024 to perform their duties with diligence, emphasizing that this action is necessary to ensure the smooth conduct of the election process in the district.
