Govt Hr Sec School Shadipora, BIS organise standard writing competition

Srinagar, July 25: Government Higher Secondary School Shadipora, Bandipora, organized an awareness and standard writing competition programme in collaboration with Bureau of Indian Standards on Tuesday. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Mr. Tilak Raj, Director of BIS-JKBO, Mr. Ashish Dwivedi, Standard Promotion Officer of BIS-JKBO and Mr. Uzair Qadri, Resource Person from BIS-JKBO.
The programme was presided over by Mr. Mir Muzamil, the mentor of the BIS Club, under the supervision of the worthy Principal, Dr. GM Puju. A total of 20 registered students participated in the event. The programme commenced with recitation of Holy Quran and introductory session presented by Mr. Mir Muzamil, welcome address by Mr. Ashiq to the guests followed by a beautiful theme song performance by the participants.
Director Tilak Raj shared valuable information about the Bureau of Indian Standards and its role. The highlight of the programme was the standard writing competition, in which all the registered students participated. The jury members evaluated the entries and selected the position holders.
Muskan Yousuf secured the 1st position in the competition, followed by Suraya Hassan in 2nd position, Bilkeesa Shabir in 3rd position, and Mubashir in 4th position. The winners were awarded cash prizes of Rs 1000 for the 1st position, Rs 750 for the 2nd position, Rs 500 for the 3rd position, and Rs 250 for the 4th position. The certificates of appreciation were also distributed to the participants.
Principal Dr GM Puju concluded the programme by presenting a vote of thanks to the honorable guests for their presence and support. The awareness and standard writing competition proved to be a successful event in promoting knowledge and understanding of the Bureau of Indian Standards among the students.
