Govt GLDM Degree College Hiranagar organizes farewell party

Hiranagar, Oct 30: Students of 4th Semester bid farewell to 6th Semester students at Govt GLDM Degree College Hiranagar on Saturday. 
On this occasion, Mrs Ritika Trehan, Owner Looks Saloon, Ritz Manor Hotel Channi and BJP Mahila Morcha J&K Spokesperson Ritika Trehan graced the ocassion as Chief Guest. The farewell program organised under the patronage of Dr Pragya Khanna, Principal of the College.
Dr. Davinder Kour, Dean Students Welfare and the Member Secretary of IQAC, presented the formal welcome address and coordinated whole program. Jury members Dr Davinder Kour,Prof Arun Kumar, Dr Jyoti Rani, Dr Sukhdeep Singh,Dr ChinkySangral and Prof Ritika were also present on the ocassion. Ramandeep was adjudged Mr. Farewell among the Boys and Priya as Miss Farewell among the Girls. Prominent among those who were part of this event include Prof Neha Bhagat and all the faculty members.
The seniors received a warm welcome by the juniors as they entered wearing elegant attire.The programme began with the juniors performances. The juniors enthusiastically performed farewell songs for the seniors; they sang the good bye songs which again created an ambiance full with emotions. The juniors were beautifully dressed in traditional costumes.
The programme then was followed with the group dance performances where the juniors gave outstanding performances on traditional and modern Hindi movies songs. The juniors created an ambiance of enjoyment and music for the seniors to enjoy their last memories in the college. Further, the event was made memorable with the flashback memories that were shared by some seniors in the speech that created an emotional moment.
Speaking on the occasion, Ritika wishing outgoing students bright future ahead said that a good student can do nothing without a good teacher, and a teacher feels bad luck when they do not get a good student. It is the teacher’s responsibility that they have to bring a student on the right track. However, it is also the responsibility of a student to follow their teacher’s orders to be on the right way. They need to support each other in school equally.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of College said that Girdari Lal Dogra Memorial Degree College, Hiranagar Dr Pragya Khanna is a progressive students centered, co-educational College committed to providing quality and holistic education for all the students.Being the Principal, I have always tried my best to build confidence in you and nurture you properly. I have always motivated you to pray for yourself, your family, friends, and examinations through this morning assembly. I am sure you are taking the treasure of knowledge in your head and heart today from this temple of learning, added Khanna.
