Srinagar, Mar 09: Two senior police officers were attached by the Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday with immediate effect. Among the duo, one was attached due toallegations of professional misconduct made against him.
In an order issued by Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh reads that in view of some allegations of professional misconduct, Adil Mushtaq DySP KPS-155772 (SDPO Nowgam) is hereby attached with the office of Special DG Crime, J&K till further orders,” it said.
The order further reads that Sumit Kumar Sharma, KPS-185679, DySP PC Srinagar in addition to his own shall look after the assignment of SDPO Nowgam.
Similarly in second order the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department ordered attachment of Additional Superintendent of Police Bandipora with immediate effect.
“In the interest of administration, Ashiq Hussain Tak, Additional Superintendent of Police, Bandipora, is hereby attached with the Police Headquarters, J&K, with immediate effect”, reads another order.
A senior police officer told Rising Kashmir that both cops were attached following allegations of misconduct against these officers. The investigation has begun in both cases and till inquiry gets completed they will remain attached to respective offices, he said.
“Professional misconduct refers to inappropriate conduct and illegal actions taken by police officers in connection with their official duties. Jammu and Kashmir Police is a professional force and there are strict guidelines in place and such things will be tolerated,” the officer said.
