Govt assigns charge of principals for GMC Anantnag, Handwara; Dental Colleges

Srinagar, April 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday assigned the charge of principals for Government Medical College Anantnag, Handwara and Dental College Srinagar and Jammu.
As per an order of the Health and Medical Education Department, consequent upon the superannuation of Prof. (Dr.) Anjum Farhana, I/c Principal, GMC, Anantnag and due to the Model Code of Conduct in place because of LS Election-2024 and ensure patient care in GMC Anantnag and Handwara following have been ordered.
Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb, Professor, Department of Anesthesiology, GMC Srinagar shall look after the post of Principal, Government Medical College, Anantnag, till further orders.
Similarly, Dr. Khurshid Ahmad Wani, Professor, Department of Paediatrics, GMC Srinagar shall look after the post of Principal, GMC Handwara, till further orders, relieving Dr. Iffat Hassan, I/C Principal, GMC Srinagar from the charge of the post of Principal, GMC, Handwara with immediate effect.
In a separate order which said consequent upon the retirement of Dr. Riyaz Farooq, Principal, Government Dental College, Srinagar and Dr. Rakesh Krishen Gupta, Principal, Indira Gandhi Government Dental College, Jammu it is ordered that below-mentioned Professors/HODs shall temporarily look after charge of posts of Principals of Government Dental Colleges in addition to their own duties, till regular appointment to the posts are made.
The order said Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Shah of Oral Surgery, Government Dental College, Srinagar shall look after the charge of principal GDC Srinagar in addition to his own duties.
Similarly, Dr. Parveen Akhter Lone of Oral Surgery, Indira Gandhi College, IGGDC, Jammu shall look after the charge of principal of the same college in addition to their own duties.
