Srinagar, May 24: In a significant step towards the beautification and infrastructure development of Beerwah town in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved works worth Rs 3.54 crore under the Finance Commission (FC) Grants in favour of the Municipal Committee Beerwah.
According to the Director of Urban Local Bodies Kashmir the administrative approval hereby accord for the execution of two major developmental projects aimed at improving the town’s aesthetic appeal and public recreational facilities.
An amount of Rs 2.34 crore has been sanctioned for the beautification of Nallah Sukhnag, which includes the construction of walkways and installation of modern lighting along the water body.
In addition, Rs 1.20 crore has been approved for the development of Natwarlal Park at Municipal Committee Beerwah, with the project expected to enhance public space and recreational opportunities for residents.
Officials said that the projects are expected to give a major boost to the town’s urban landscape and improve civic amenities for the local population.
