Srinagar, Nov 21: Lt. Gen. Rajiv Ghai, Commander of the 15 Corps at Badami Bagh Cantt, on Tuesday visited the Crossing Point LoC Teetwal. He inaugurated a Vegetarian Eatery and dedicated it to catering to the culinary preferences of vegetarian food enthusiasts visiting the Sharda Temple and surrounding areas.
The occasion was attended by key figures including GoC 28 Infantry Kupwara Girish Kalia, 104 Brigade Commander Kumara Das, and a multitude of local residents and children. A noteworthy highlight was the erection and unfurling of a 104-ft high Indian flag right on the LoC. Members of the Sharda Yatra Construction Committee, including Ajaz Khan and others, were also present.
Ravinder Pandita, Head and Founder of the Save Sharda Committee, expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for establishing the vegetarian eatery, emphasizing its significance in serving not only Sharda temple pilgrims but also the local populace. The event was marked by vibrant celebrations, and a Tiranga Cricket tournament kicked off at the Shan-e-Teetwal cricket ground, adding to the festive atmosphere.
