Baramulla, Sep 12: The cardiology team at GMC Baramulla have successfully carried out 22 dual chamber pacemaker implantation procedures in the last six months.

This achievement has not only brought acclaim to the institution but also to the entire northern region of Kashmir.

A health care official said that GMC Baramulla, as the pioneering institution among the newer GMCs, has introduced the advanced and high-tech facility of Pacemaker Implantation, showcasing their dedication to enhancing healthcare services with limited resources.

Principal of Medical College Baramulla Dr. Ruby Reshi and the Medical Superintendent of AHGMC Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi extended their heartfelt congratulations to the Head of the Medicine Department and the team of doctors, led by the dedicated cardiologist Dr. Mudasir Muzamil, for this significant milestone.

Medical Superintendent AHGMC Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi said that these life-saving procedures were conducted under the Ayushman Bharat (Golden Card) facility, making them accessible to patients free of cost.

“In the private sector, such procedures can cost up to 2 lakh rupees. Here at Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla, these 22 dual chamber pacemaker implantation procedures were done free of cost under Ayushman Bharat facility,” he said.
