The Department of Medicine, GMC Baramulla achieved a significant milestone by successfully implanting a dual chamber pacemaker in a 75-year-old patient who was admitted with multiple episodes of syncope.
The procedure was carried out after an ECG revealed LBBB with a high degree AV block.
The team of doctors, including Dr. Yasir Bashir(Assistant Professor) Department of Medicine, Dr. Mudasir Muzamil, DM Cardiology, and Dr. Javaid Wani, Medical Officer, successfully implanted the pacemaker without any complications. The team was supported by other technical staff.
The pacemaker implantation was performed under the PMJAY Scheme, which aims to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to all the patients. The program covers the costs of medical procedures for patients in need, and this successful implantation is a testament to the scheme’s effectiveness in providing quality healthcare to all.
