GM Northern Railways directs officials to Complete Sangaldan- Reasi section of USBRL project by June end

Srinagar, May 11: General Manager, Northern Railway Shobhan Chaudhuri on Saturday directed project authorities to expedite the completion of all pending work beyond Sangaldan (46 KM) up to Reasi by the end of June this year.

GM Northern Railways conducted an inspection from the Chenab Bridge up to Sangaldan station via Motor Trolley and during the inspection, he assessed all track, E&M, and Signal Telecom works in the Bakkal-Duggar-Sawalkote-Sangaldan section.

He was also accompanied by Chief Administrative Officer USBRL and other senior officers of Northern Railways and KRCL.

GM Chaudhuri also conducted balance activities for completing the work of Sawalakote yard , Tunnels T-42 & 43 were thoroughly discussed with engineers of Northern Railway , IRCON and KRCL.

Chief Public Relations Officer, Deepak Kumar said that the General Manager expressed satisfaction at the pace of progress but impressed upon the project authorities to closely monitor all the activities .

“He instructed that the target must not slip any further and any shortfall occurring should be made up by diligent planning. Directed the Project Authorities to complete the work upto Reasi beyond Sangaldan (46 KM) by June end,” CPRO said.

Earlier on Friday, GM Northern Railways conducted a detailed inspection of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway link and stated that a lot of challenges have been encountered along the 3.2 Km long T3 tunnel, however now it is nearing completion.

He inspected Tunnel no 33, Tunnel no 34, Anji Bridge, tunnel no 35, Reasi Yard, Tunnel no 36 and Chenab Bridge. Balance activities for completing work of Tunnel T-33 was thoroughly discussed with engineers of Northern Railway and KRCL.
