Srinagar, March 4: Ghulam Hassan Sheikh (JKAS) Tuesday officially took over as the Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE).
Soon after assuming office, he chaired an introductory meeting to take stock of urgent issues requiring immediate attention. During the meeting, it was revealed that preparations for the ongoing Class 11th and 12th examinations, both in Hard and Soft Zone areas, are well underway. The Secretary emphasised the need for all officers and officials to maintain strict vigilance over the examination process, ensuring fairness and transparency. He highlighted that a positive and compassionate approach towards students would facilitate better performance and enhance their academic journey.
In an effort to strengthen coordination, Sheikh also convened an online meeting with officers from Sub and Branch Offices of JKBOSE. He directed them to put in their best efforts to uphold the integrity of examinations across Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, he held a virtual interaction with all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of various districts, stressing the importance of a smooth and transparent examination process. Later, the Secretary visited various sections of the Divisional Office, Jammu, including the evaluation halls. Engaging with the staff and examiners, he underscored the critical role of fair and meticulous evaluation in shaping students’ academic careers. He urged examiners to exercise utmost caution while assessing answer sheets to ensure a just and accurate assessment of students’ performance.
