GDC Vijaypur organises Group Discussion on “Drug Abuse”

Nasha Mukt Committee of Government Degree College Vijaypur, in collaboration with J&K Police, Jammu Samba Kathua Range, organized a group discussion on drug abuse to create awareness among the college students/citizens about the impact of drugs on mental health of individuals, social health, psychological health and family health.

The event started with the welcome address by Dr. Gunjeet Mahiwal (Lecturer Education) followed by lamp lighting and singing of Saraswati Vandana.

The Principal of the College briefed the students about the perils of drug abuse on the life of an individual, including his physical and emotional health and social life. A team from J&K Police, JSK Range comprising SDPO Vijaypur, DySP Rohit Gupta, DySP Raman Kumar (DIG Office Jammu), SHO Vijaypur Zaheer Manhas and ASI, Tarsem Lal participated in the programme. The SDPO Vijaypur) briefed students regarding the challenges administration is facing in curbing the menace of drug abuse. He further shared various preventive measures that can be adopted by the civil society to keep a check on illegal and anti-social activities. He also answered the questions raised by the students.
