Samba, December 21, 2024 – SPPND Government Degree College Samba hosted a memorable Alumni Meet under the theme “Celebrating the Past, Connecting for the Future,” bringing together former students for a day of camaraderie, nostalgia and collaboration. The event aimed to strengthen the bond between alumni and their alma mater while promoting support for the institution’s continued growth.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the National Anthem, instilling a sense of unity and patriotism. In her welcome address, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri warmly greeted the alumni, expressed gratitude for their ongoing association, and emphasized their crucial role in shaping the college’s legacy and future. A documentary showcasing the college’s achievements, milestones, and progress offered alumni a nostalgic look at their alma mater’s journey.

The event also saw the election of the Alumni Association’s new Governing Body, with Naresh Kumar (Assistant Professor, GDC Majalta) elected as President, Bhuvnesh Pargal (JKAS) and Neha (Assistant Professor, Bhargav College) as Vice-Presidents, Gulshan Sharma as General Secretary, Rohit Singh as Joint Secretary, Nikhil Singh as Treasurer, and Mansi Charak as Assistant Treasurer.

An interactive session provided alumni with the opportunity to share their success stories and express gratitude to the faculty and institution for providing them with a strong foundation. The 2022-23 alumni batch made a generous donation of a water cooler to the college as a token of appreciation.

The event concluded with a vibrant cultural program showcasing the creativity and talent of current students. A vote of thanks was delivered by Seema Sharma, Convener of the Alumni Committee, while Babita Kumari and Rubina Kousar, Assistant Professors in the Department of Zoology, skillfully conducted the proceedings.
