Samba, Aug 14: As part of the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada Campaign and to observe the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh hosted a ‘slogan writing competition’ and ‘documentary screening’.
The event aimed to foster a spirit of cleanliness and patriotism among students. The programme was organized under overall guidance and patronage of the Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra.
Speaking on the occasion, she stated that the “Swachhata Pakhwada initiative encourages us all to contribute to a cleaner India, while the documentary serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made for our independence.”
The event began with a dynamic slogan writing competition. Students from various departments showcased their creativity and commitment to the themes of cleanliness and patriotism. The competition provided a platform for students to voice their thoughts on the importance of a clean environment and the significance of independence.
Following the competition, the college screened a powerful documentary highlighting the harrowing experiences of the Partition of India. The documentary provided an in-depth look into one of the most challenging periods in Indian history, emphasizing the profound impact of Partition on millions of lives. The event was attended by many faculty members including Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Dr. Snobar, Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Ashok Kumar, Prof. Brahm Dutt and Dr. Shivali Panjgotra.
