Kangan, Nov 30: In a significant step toward enhancing sports infrastructure and promoting physical fitness, the Government Degree College (GDC) Kangan officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art badminton court on its campus.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Principal Prof. Sadaf Nazir, Convener of the College Sports Committee Dr. Inayatullah Dar, College Physical Training Instructor Dr. Mubashir Nisar, along with faculty, staff, and students.
The newly constructed badminton court aims to provide students with a modern facility for both recreational play and competitive training. Speaking at the event, Principal Prof. Sadaf Nazir highlighted the importance of sports in the holistic development of students. “This court is not just a facility for casual games but a platform where students can refine their skills, compete, and potentially represent the college at inter-college and district tournaments,” she said.
Dr. Mubashir Nisar shared details about the court’s design, emphasizing the use of high-quality materials to ensure durability and optimal playing conditions. He expressed confidence that the court would serve as a valuable asset to the college’s sports infrastructure. “This facility will enable regular practice sessions, enhancing students’ skills and fostering a competitive spirit,” Dr. Nisar noted.
Students expressed excitement and enthusiasm about the new facility. “Having access to such a well-equipped court motivates us to take badminton seriously and participate in upcoming tournaments,” one student remarked.
The event concluded with a round of applause as Principal Prof. Sadaf Nazir extended her gratitude to all those who contributed to the project. She reiterated the college’s commitment to nurturing both academic excellence and physical well-being.
