Jammu, June 26: Government College of Education Jammu Thursday joined the global community in observing the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with a powerful series of events aimed at raising awareness among students and staff about the dangers of Drug Abuse.
The College’s NCORD Committee coordinated the activities under the guidance of the College Principal Dr. Jyoti Parihar and convener Prof. Sunanda Rani along with the committee members.
The event began with the screening of documentary on “Operation Sanjivani” followed by Slogan writing competition and Nukaad Natak performance that highlighted the disastrous consequences of Drug abuse. An awareness rally was also organized where students carried placards, banners and posters advocating for a drug free lifestyle. Earlier, the College Principal, in her inaugural address, emphasised the role of educational institutions in shaping youth as a responsible citizen with a positive mindset and healthy lifestyle. The programme reflected the 2025 UN Theme “Evidence is Clear; Invest in Prevention”. Students of B.Ed and M.Ed classes participated in the events with great zeal and enthusiasm.
