Gbl Admin issues advisory appeals people not to venture out in hilly & avalanche prone areas

Tehsildar Gund has issued an advisory to general public in view of snowfall and slippery road conditions in several areas of Gund Tehsil in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

 

In view of the recent snowfall in the jurisdiction of Tehsil Gund, the General Public is requested to remain cautious and not to venture out in slopes, Hilly areas or avalanche prone areas till weather improves. Accordingly vehicles moving towards Kullan. Porjat Gagangeer, Rayil, Sonamarg and Nilgrar should be equipped with chained tires. Also, vehicular movement towards Sonamarg and Nilgrar shall be stopped till weather improves, read the advisory issued by Tehsildar Gund Javid Iqbal.

 

Furthermore, it is impressed upon all the concerned departments working within the jurisdiction of Tehsil Gund to remain alert and coordinated during the period.

 

Meanwhile the Upper reaches of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, including health resort of Sonamarg, Gumri Zojila Pass ,Shaitani Nallah,Panjtarni,Zero Point,Minamarg ,Drass Kargil , Gagangeer,Kullan ,Rayil ,Gund received heavy snowfall on Wednesday.

 

Officials said Sonamarg and other higher areas of Ganderbal have been receiving fresh spell of snow on Wednesday adding that nearly 1 Ft snow has accumulated at Sonamarg and Gagangeer while Zojila, Zero Point accumulated 1.5 ft fresh Snowfall.
