Gauri Kaul foundation signs MoU with Indian Oil

‘Heart Clinic on Wheels’ to provide cardiac care in remote areas of South Kashmir

Srinagar, Oc 16: MoA for CSR project “IndianOil Heart Clinic on Wheels” was signed between Gauri Kaul foundation and Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Chandigarh.
The MoA was exchanged at Punjab State Office by CGM (Plg & Cord), PSO Sh. Atul Aggarwal and Director, GKF Dr. Upendra Kaul in presence of Senior IndianOil officials. The MoA was signed by founder Dir. Dr. Upendra Kaul from GKF and GM(HR-CSR), IndianOil, Sh. Arif Akhtar.
Under this unique CSR initiative, IndianOil shall be providing financial assistance of around Rs.78.5 lacs for setting up the mobile facilities and executing the project. Dr. Upendra Kaul thanked IOCL for this noble gesture which would help large needy population of South Kashmir.
Under the project “IndianOil Heart Clinic on wheels”, Gauri Kaul foundation shall be developing State-of-the-Heart Cardiac Care for Underserved Areas of South Kashmir. The Heart Clinic on Wheels will be a fully equipped mobile cardiac care unit that will travel to remote areas of South Kashmir to provide State-of-the-Heart cardiac care services to underserved populations.
South Kashmir, with a population of 2 million people, comprises mostly underserved communities living in backward areas. The clinic will be staffed with experienced doctors, nurses and technicians, who will conduct Screening of children for rheumatic heart disease & treatment, Screening of I.V drug abusers for infective endocarditis & treatment and Screening and treatment of elderly for heart problems, diabetes, hypertension and other diseases. This shall help the people of the area in big way in getting diagnosed for any medical issue and simultaneously getting proper treatment at right time.
The Mobile Cardiac Care Unit shall be stationed at Prasad Joo Khan Heart Centre (Gauri Kaul Foundation) and Gauri Heart Centre, Chanapora, Srinagar Kashmir.
The Gauri Kaul Foundation (GKF) is a non-profit organization founded by its Director Upendra Kaul in memory of his late mother, Mrs. Gauri Kaul. The foundation was established three years ago on April 13th,2021 following camps conducted in remote areas of six districts in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as one in Mumbra, Thane district in Maharashtra, and one in Kakchin, Manipur near the Myanmar border. These camps were carried out under the banner of the Gauri Healthy Heart Mission, starting on World Heart Day on September 29th, 2020. The local administration, as well as Health and Finance Commissioner Sh. Atal Dulloo, provided their support for this initiative.
