Gang of drug peddlers busted, four held in Pulwama: Police

Continuing its efforts to tackle the menace of drugs in district Pulwama, Police arrested four notorious drug peddlers including a lady and recovered 5 grams of brown sugar and 350 gms of charas.

 

 

 

 

A Police Spokesperson said that on 07/02/2023, Pulwama Police laid a naka at Litter near Govt. Hr secondary school. During naka checking an auto load carrier bearing registration no. JK13G- 7307 coming from Litter towards Naina, was signaled to stop. After noticing the Police Party, the driver of the auto load carrier tried to escape from the spot, however police party tactfully apprehended him and the all the persons riding in the vehicle also apprehended.

 

 

“During their search, 5 grams of Brown sugar and 350 grams of charas were recovered from their possession. All the accused persons including a lady were arrested and the vehicle used for the commission of crime also seized”, he said.

 

 

Police identified accused persons asTauseef Mushtaq s/o Mushtaq Ahmad ganai R/O Chotipora pulwama, Junaid Ahmad Malik S/O Gh Mohd Malik R/O Rangmulla Pulwama, Tahir Ahmad Joo S/O Nazir Ahmad Joo R/O Khonmoh, Mst Suraya Jeelani D/O Gh Jeelani Shah R/O Bagaat Barzulla A/P Rawalpora Sgr

 

“To this effect, Case FIR NO 05/2023 u/s 8/20,29 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Litter and investigation set into motion”, he said
