Gandhi Memorial College, Anwar-ul-Islam foundation organise conference on ‘Azmat-i-Imam Hussain’ (AS)

Srinagar, Aug 11: Gandhi Memorial College, Srinagar in collaboration with Anwar-ul-Islam foundation on Friday organised a one-day conference on the theme ‘Azmat-i-Imam Hussain’ (AS).
The conference was attended by a galaxy of scholars besides students and faculty members of Gandhi Memorial College, Srinagar.
Khurshid Ahmad Qanungo, Showkat Hussain Keing, Shakeel Qalandar, Syed Humayun Qaisar and Haneef Balkhi were the guests on this occasion.
The conference opened with recitation of the verses of the Quran. This was followed by a welcome address delivered by Chairman Anwar-ul-Islam foundation.
In his presidential speech, the college Principal, Prof (Dr) G M Lone exhorted the audience to embrace the message of patience, steadfastness and courage exhibited by Imam Hussain in the battlefield of Karbala.
Khurshid Ahmad Qanungo, Showkat Hussain Keing and Afaq Chisti were among the speakers who spoke on various dimensions of the personality of Imam Hussain (AS). 
The book titled “Sargazasht” was also released during the proceedings of this conference.
