Srinagar, May 16: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) will conduct an emergency medical service (EMS) mock drill on Wednesday to take stock of the health preparedness at designated venues in the wake of G20 Summit events in Kashmir.
Spokesperson Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mir Mushtaq said the department is geared up with all required arrangements for the successful summit.
“We will conduct a mock drill on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir Main Office Bemina to check the preparedness of venues,” he said.
In this regard, the directorate on Tuesday issued an order and directed all the Nodal Officers and deputed staff to be ready for the mock drill exercise and made it compulsory for them.
The mock drill will be conducted at venues like Sheikh-ul-Alam International Airport, Taj Vivanta, Hotel Lalit and Sheri Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), Srinagar.
The Nodal Officers and deputed staff which include senior doctors have been tasked to hold the drill and submit recommendations to the health department.
Officials said that the mock drill exercise will be held to see and review the health facilities for the successful conduct of hospitals during the events.
The respective officers have been instructed to ensure that all the healthcare arrangements are in ready mode and the exercise will help improve lacunas if any.
The health department has established special clinics at the important spots and doctors have been trained in basic life support and drugs have been procured for events.
