Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested four gamblers and seized stake money in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and playing cards from their possession.
A Police spokesperson said, “Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities in the orchards near Kuta Morh Pattan, a police party headed by SHO PS Pattan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan raided the specific spot and apprehended 04 gamblers & recovered stake money of ₹ 5300/- & playing cards from their possession.”
“They have been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Darzi son of Gh Nabi resident of Pattan, Hilal Ahmad Sofi @ Pinna son of Noor Din resident of Sofi Mohalla Pattan, Bashir Ahmad Gojri son of Ab Gaffar resident of Jamia Mohalla Pattan & Zahoor Ahmad Sofi @ DC son of Mohd Rajab resident of Pattan. They have been shifted to PS Pattan where they remain in custody”, he said.
Accordingly, a case FIR under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Pattan and investigation has been initiated.
