Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police on Sunday have arrested 04 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A Police Spokesperson said, “During Naka Checking at Choon Crossing police party from Police Station Budgam intercepted a vehicle MARUTI Eeco bearing registeration number JK04H-1091 with two persons on board. During search 5.36 Grams of Heroin like substance was recovered from their possesion.”
“They have been arrested on spot and subsequently identified as Mehraj-Ud-Din Mir son of Mohammad Sultan Mir resident of Choon Budgam, Shahbaaz Nisar son of Nisar Ahmad Ahangar resident of Ichgam Budgam”, he said
He said that Case FIR number 81/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up.
During the course of investigation and on the disclosure of arrested accused persons, 02 more accused persons namely Javeed Ahmad Lone son of Bashir Ahmad Lone resident of Eidgah Mohalla Humhama and Raqeeb Ahmad Dar son of Nazir Ahmad Dar resident of Gonikhan Srinagar A/P Gogoo Humhama have been arrested in the instant case & 7.72 Grams of Heroin like substance and cash of Rs 6400/= was recovered from their possession. Further investigation into the matter is going on.
