Four drug peddlers arrested across Kashmir

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested four drug peddlers in Ganderbal, Bandipora & Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

 

In Ganderbal, police Parties led by Incharge PP Shadipora & Incharge PP Nagbal under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal arrested two drug peddlers during naka checking at Goundroshan and Rangil respectively. During their search, Charas like substance were recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Gulzar Ahmad Peer @Chorma son of Gh Rasool Peer resident of Gundroshana and Javid Ahmad Kumar son of Habibullah Kumar resident of Rangil. 

 

In Bandipora, officers at a checkpoint established at Rakhi Shilwat arrested a drug peddler alongwith 2.1Kgs of Charas Powder like substance. He has been identified as Mushtaq Ah Dar resident of Rakhi Shilvat Mustafa Abad. 

 

In Kulgam, a Police party led by SHO Police Station Yaripora during naka checking at Matibugh arrested a notorious drug peddler identified as Muneeb Ahmad Bhat son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat resident of Berigam, Qazigund. During search, 5.96 grams of Heroin like substance was recovered from his possession. 

 

All the arrested drug peddlers have been shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody. Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigation has been initiated.

 

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly under law.
