Former Director of Doordarshan and AIR Srinagar, and Sahitya academy award winning poet Farooq Nazki has passed away on Tuesday.
As per reports, Farooq Nazki breathed his last at Narayana Hospital in Katra.
Farooq Nazki was a poet, broadcaster and media personality from Jammu and Kashmir. He also served as Director Doordarshan & AIR Srinagar from 1986 to 1997 under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (India). Besides media head and writing career, Nazki has also served as Editor “Daily Mazdoor” from 1960 a newspaper highlighting the problems labours class.
