Srinagar, Feb 09: Security forces on Friday busted a secret concrete hideout, and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Tarzoo area of north Kashmir’s Sopore. Two persons have also been arrested in this regard, officials said.
A police officer at Sopore said that during the investigation of a case, some suspects were called for questioning and during which an actionable lead was developed.
He said following the lead, Sopore Police conducted a search in the house of the suspect along-with Army and CRPF.
“During the search, a secret concrete hideout was found inside the residential house of one Ab Rashid Najar of Tarzoo, Sopore wherein arms and ammunition like IEDs, Pistol, Pistol Mag , live ammunition and other incriminating electronic items were recovered,” he said.
The police officer revealed that the accused namely Ab Rashid Najar was arrested while on his disclosure, it was further revealed that Ab Jameel Larah of Sopore is also involved in similar kind of subversive activities.
“Subsequently, search was conducted at the residence of Ab Jameel Larah by joint parties of Sopore police, Army and CRPF during which arms and ammunition like Pistol, Pistol Mag, Pistol Rounds, and other incriminating electronic items and documents were recovered. Both the accused have been arrested and the investigation has been initiated,” he added.
The police officer said they are investigating the entire incident and further investigation is underway in the case.
