Jammu, Sept 28: Former minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Priya Sethi on Saturday said that first time in history, Jammu will decide and will play a key role in government formation. She praised the residents of Jammu for actively participating in the festival of democracy.
Addressing various public meetings in different areas of Jammu East constituency, Sethi said that Jammu people have understood that Jammu was never a priority for the Congress party and its leadership. “The Congress party has always been Kashmir-centric and that is why their focus has always been on Kashmir,” she said.
The BJP’s National Executive Member hailed the extensive developments undertaken by the Modi government in Jammu and Kashmir, specifically in the Jammu division. She highlighted the welfare schemes implemented by the Modi government, including direct transfer benefits, and the historical decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370 and the construction of Shri Ram Mandir.
Sethi, who is also BJP’s HQ in charge, further said that no other government except the BJP had the courage to give fundamental rights to West Pakistan refugees, Valmiki Samaj, and a dignified value to daughters. “The government has abolished interviews for lower and non-gazetted posts to end malpractices in recruitment processes,” she added.
Priya praised the Modi government’s achievements, including the establishment of AIIMS, IIT, IIM, bridges, roads, parking at Bus Stand, and parking at Panjtherthi. She highlighted the establishment of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Bench at Jammu and Srinagar for the benefit of employees of Jammu and Kashmir.
The senior BJP leader asked the Congress to explain why they did not rename KAS as JKAS (Jammu Kashmir Administrative Services) during their 70-year rule. “The historical steps like One Nation One Tax, One Nation One Ration Card, Affordable Rental Housing Scheme, One Rank One Pension, the appointment of Chief of Defence Staff, Ayushman Bharat, Gareeb Kalyan Yojna, MSME package, special package for farmers, etc were taken for the benefit of the masses,” she said.
Sethi urged voters to unite behind the BJP’s vision for a prosperous and harmonious India, saying the party is committed to the welfare of all citizens. She asked people to cast their votes in the upcoming polls on October 01 for BJP’s candidate. “Your vote in favour of BJP can increase the pace of development manifold,” she said.
