Srinagar, Feb 16: The Department of Floriculture, Gardens, and Parks in Srinagar has introduced revised entry fee rates for the various parks and gardens under its care.
The revised entry fees were issued by Commissioner Secretary Floriculture Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad and will come in effect from March 1, 2024, with an aim to streamline the visitor experience and ensure the continued maintenance and enhancement of these cherished green spaces.
For most parks and gardens, excluding Tulip Garden and Children Park Hazuri Bagh, Srinagar, the new entry fees are as Rs. 30 for adults and Rs. 15 for children below 12 years. The same rates apply to Children Park Hazuri Bagh and Tulip Garden, reflecting a consistent fee structure across these diverse attractions.
Foreign visitors are subject to different rates, with a nominal fee of Rs. 10 for adults and children when visiting all parks and gardens (excluding Tulip Garden) in the capacity of a guardian accompanying a child. For Tulip Garden, the entry fee for adults is set at Rs. 75, while children below 12 years will be charged Rs. 30.
It’s noteworthy that the revised rates will also extend to outsourced parks and gardens, albeit with a specific clause. For those already under outsourcing agreements, the new rates will be applicable from the date of the allotment of a new contract or the extension of an existing one.
This move by the Department of Floriculture, Gardens, and Parks is anticipated to contribute to the sustainability of these green havens, ensuring that they continue to provide a serene and well-maintained environment for residents and visitors alike.
The transparent fee structure is expected to facilitate improved management and upkeep, aligning with the broader goal of promoting tourism and preserving the natural beauty of Srinagar.
