Five persons held for cultivation of Poppy in their land in Baramulla: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday identified and arrested 5 persons who were being found involved in cultivation of poppy at Kamalkote, Shadra Sarai areas of Uri sector in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

 

A Police spokesperson said, In continuation to earlier action in which illegal cultivation of Poppy (opium plant) at Kamalkote, Shadra, Sarai areas of Uri sector was destroyed.

 

“During investigation of the case police led by PSI Shubham Seth, IC PP Kamalkote under the overall supervision of Shokat Ali-JKPS, SDPO Uri identified and arrested Asgar Hussain S/O Akbar Hussain R/O Sarie Shadra, Iftikhar Hussain S/O Mohd Afzal Manhas R/O Sarie Shadra, Syed Tufail Hussain S/O Anayat Hussain R/O Kundi Barjala Shadra, Maajid Ali S/O Hashim Ali Khan R/O Sarie Shadra & Abdul Rashid Manhas S/O Feroz Din R/O Sarie Shadra who were found involved in cultivation of Poppy in their land”, he said.

 

He said that further investigation of the case is going on.
