Srinagar, July 26: The Fire & Emergency Services department has established a new fire station in the Boniyar tehsil of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. It was a long-standing demand from local residents over the past two decades.
Deputy Director of Fire Service in Baramulla district, M Arif, informed Rising Kashmir that the fire station has been set up to cater to all the villages in the Boniyar area. “There are already two fire stations in the Uri and Baramulla areas along the Baramulla to Uri Road stretch, and this new fire station will cover the areas of the Boniyar tehsil,” he said.
The newly established fire station is located in rented accommodation and is equipped with necessary tools, manpower and fire service vehicles.
Arif said this initiative fulfills a long-standing demand from the local residents. He urged people to contact the fire station in case of any fire incidents. “This will ensure that fire tenders can promptly respond and control fires, thereby preventing further property damage,” he said.
The residents of Boniyar tehsil expressed their gratitude towards the LG administration, Fire & Emergency department and district administration Baramulla for addressing this long-pending demand.
