Ganderbal, Dec 09: Several shops in the shopping complex faced significant damage in the fire incident at the main market of Kangan in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district district. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, but the incident has led to substantial financial losses.
Official revealed that on Friday and Saturday intervening night, near the Sumo Stand in the main market of Kangan, a sudden fire erupted in the middle of the night. The fire engulfed several shops in the shopping complex, reducing the contents of the affected establishments to ashes.
Emergency services, including Fire and Emergency Kangan, Ganderbal, Lar-associated firefighters, local youth, police, CRPF, and the Army, worked tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading further, successfully containing the blaze through prompt and coordinated efforts.
As this unfortunate incident, goods worth lakhs of rupees in the affected shops have suffered extensive damage. The swift action taken by the collective efforts of emergency responders has curtailed the potential escalation of the situation, although the financial impact remains significant.
