Fire Breaks Out in Srinagar's Ali Jan Complex

Srinagar, Dec 20: A fire broke out at Ali Jan Complex today, which was successfully brought under control after massive firefighting efforts by the Fire & Emergency Services. The fire call was received by the Control Room at 17:34 hrs, and within one minute, fire tenders from F&ES Headquarters and Fire Station Gowkadal were dispatched to the scene. Upon reaching the spot, it was found that the attic portion of the building was involved in the fire. Firefighting operations were immediately launched, and after sustained efforts, the fire was brought under control. During the operation, three fire personnel sustained injuries: Mohammad Amin, SGFT, Fire & Emergency Station Gowkadal, Mohammad Maqbool, Fireman, Fire Station Gowkadal, Sagar Bhat, Fireman, F&ES Headquarters. All injured personnel were referred to the hospital for treatment. The operation was headed by DFO Headquarters Muzaffar Ali and DFO City Mohammad Ayoub, under the supervision of Deputy Director F&ES Dr. Mir Aqib Hussain, along with Mobilizing Officer Aijaz Ahmad Shah. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and an investigation has been initiated.
