Srinagar, Sep 17: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah greeted people on the commencement of the Rabi ul Awal.
The duo said that the month of Rabi ul Awal marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the greatest humanitarian that ever walked on earth.
In his message, Dr Farooq prayed that the month advances peace and prosperity in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life is a continuous source of inspiration for mankind. His detractors also referred to him as “the Truthful” (Al Sadiq) and “the Faithful”, he said.
Omar Abdullah impressed upon the people to follow the path shown by the Prophet of Islam (PBUH). While greeting the people on the commencement of the month of Rabi ul Awal, he said the holy Prophet (PBUH) is the blessing for the whole of mankind. “One who returned love for hatred,” he said.
The party’s senior leaders and functionaries have also greeted the people at the outset of the month of Rabi ul Awal.
Meanwhile, the party general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar has asked the divisional administration to ensure all basic and glitch-free civic amenities to devotees at Asari Sharief Hazratbal, Jinab Sahib Soura, Asar e Shareef Pinjura, Aham Shareef Bandipura, Kaba Margh, Makhama, Sheikh Rajab Sahib, Asar e Shareef Kushaan sahib and Asaar e Shareef Kalashpora.
He implored upon the civil administration, Waqf board and the shrine management bodies to work in tandem to ensure hitch-free Milad observance across Kashmir.
Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Sunday conveyed his warm wishes to the people, especially the Muslim community, as the auspicious month of Rabi-ul-Awal dawns. He appealed to Muslim worshipers to pray for the peace and stability of Jammu and Kashmir during this sacred month.
In his message, Bukhari said, “I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly to our Muslim brethren, on the commencement of the revered month of Rabi-ul-Awal. This month holds immense significance in the history of mankind as our beloved Prophet (SAW) was born in this month, and his birth was a profound blessing to mankind as the Prophet (SAW) was sent as a messenger to the entire humanity.”
He appealed to people to pray for peace in Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “People of this land have been grappling with uncertainty and violence for quite a long time. In this holy month, we all must bow our heads to the Almighty to seek His blessings and pray fervently for the lasting peace and serenity of this cherished land.”
