Srinagar, Apr 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested another man for creatingbogus visiting cards for Gujarat Conman  who posed as top ranking official at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) New Delhi.
A senior police officer told Rising Kashmir that they have arrested another accused in the case. He has been identified as Piyush Bhai from Ahmedabad in Gujarat and was arrested from his printing press on Monday.
“The investigation is underway in the case and more arrests are expected in the high-profile case. We are tracing the persons who introduced Conman to the Police,” he said, adding that some persons have been shortlisted and very soon they will be behind the bars.
On April 15, Patel was arrested by Ahmedabad City Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) in another case of impersonation, cheating and criminal breach of trust. This is the fifth criminal case against Kiran in Gujarat.
The DCB officials arrested him after registering an FIR on Saturday based on a complaint by HardikChandarana (37), who runs an event management company — RX Events — in Ambawadi area of Ahmedabad.
On March 29, the J&K ordered a time-bound inquiry and appointed Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri as the inquiry officer to probe various aspects related to the visits of Gujarat conman to Kashmir.
Bhai had made fake visiting cards for conman Kiren Patel who posed as an Additional Director (Strategy & Campaigns) Prime Minister’s Office.
On March 16, Patel was arrested in Srinagar after he conned the J&K administration and acquired VVIP protocol and security while in Kashmir.
As per Police based upon this, a case vide FIR No. 19/2023 U/S 419,420,467,468, 471 of IPC was registered in Police Station Nishat on 02/03/2023 and investigation was taken up.
“A team of SP East Srinagar, SDPO Nehru Park, SHO Nishat are leading the investigation. The accused Patel was arrested on 03-03-2023 and is in police remand up to 17-03-2023,” the spokesman said.
He said that many relevant persons have been examined in this case. Case is at the initial stage of investigation and further details of this case will be shared later..
Patel also visited border areas and visited high-security areas. It is a matter of concern for security agencies in the Valley. He also posted on social media account several videos and pictures of his visits. He also held a series of meetings with officials during his two visits to Srinagar earlier this year.
In his Twitter bio he claims to have a PhD from Commonwealth University, Virginia, an MBA from IIM Trichy, as well as an M.Tech in Computer Science and B.E. in Computer Engineering.
The accused was the second visit to Kashmir. He had come earlier in February, and now on his second visit in March, he was arrested by police.
