Pakistan has been slammed by India at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHC). India has strongly responded to Pakistan on raising the Kashmir issue at the UNHC during the 55th Human Rights Council. It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has been uncomfortable after the neutralisation of Article 370 and 35 A in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019.As it has put Pakistan on the back foot and established the writ of the Indian Constitution in totality to mainstream the governance of the erstwhile princely state. Not only that the reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has given a severe blow to the subversive strategies of terrorist modules by affecting there sphere of influence. It has also addressed the long term regional aspirations of Ladakh that was feeling alienated. In this anti India tirade Turkiye has also joined Pakistan. For a long time Turkiye has been toeing the Pakistani line on Jammu and Kashmir and misleading the world about the real situation and misleading the world. Both Pakistan and Turkiye are indulging in lies to divert attention from their internal destabilisation. Exercising the India’s Right to Reply at the on-going high level segment of the 55th regular session of the UN Human rights Council in Geneva on Wednesday, First Secretary in Permanent Mission of India to the UN ,Anupama Singh took Pakistan head on. While replying to the Pakistani propaganda against India and distortion of the ground reality. She said, “Firstly, we regret the comment made by Turkiye on a matter that is an internal affair of India and hope that it would refrain from making unsolicited comments on our internal matters in the future, “Dismantling the Pakistani propaganda and lies about India. She said, ”We cannot pay any further attention to a country that speaks while being soaked in red – the red of the bloodshed from the terrorism it sponsors around the world; the red of its debt-riddled national balance sheets; and the red of the shame its own people feel for their government having failed to serve their actual interests. She did not stop here but exposed Pakistan’s approach of running with the hare and hunting with hounds when it comes to terrorism. She attacked Pakistan for hosting terrorists and even celebrating UN Security Council sanctioned terrorists. She made this remark to bring home the point that Pakistan has no moral right and conviction to cast aspersions on India’s pluralistic ethos and democratic credentials. As India’s democratic values are exemplars for the world. This remark was her apparent reference to nurturing and sheltering the leaders of the terrorist outfits that operate from Pakistan. She expressed regret that it is deeply unfortunate that the UNSC platform has been once again misused by Pakistan for making patently false allegations against India. As such India is constrained to respond. Reiterating and asserting the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable parts of India and the constitutional measures taken by the Indian government to ensure socio- economic development and good governance in both the union territories is an internal matter of India. She out rightly rejected the locus standi of Pakistan to pronounce on the matters that are internal to India. Showing Pakistan mirror she remarked that that Pakistan is a country that has institutionalised the systemic persecution of its own minorities and has a truly abysmal human rights record. Substantiating her point,She said, “Commenting on India, which is demonstratively making great strides in achieving economic progress and social justice, is not merely ironical, but perverse.”In order to expose the Pakistan’s duplicity and hypocrisy on the human rights record She cited the “glaring example” of large-scale brutality perpetrated against the minority Christian communities in Jaranwala city in Pakistan in August 2023, when 19 churches were gutted, and 89 Christian houses burnt down. Time has changed and India can’t be taken for granted when it comes to the Pakistan’s propaganda on Jammu and Kashmir. The only issue that is unsettled about Jammu and Kashmir is the reclamation of the Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) areas that Pakistan has occupied illegally and is using as the launching pad for terrorism against India .national will of India is well defined in the unanimous resolution passed by the Indian Parliament on 22nd February 1994 to take back all areas of POJK from Pakistan that are legally and constitutionally the Indian territories.
