Jammu, Jan 12: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) organized a webinar for StartUps, students and entrepreneurs on “Building Successful Startup from J&K”. J&K’s own successful StartUp founder Ridhima Arora was the guest speaker and expert on the occasion.
The StartUp activities resonate with youth and their spirit, and this webinar coinciding with National Youth Day made it more special. The objective of this webinar was to spread J&K StartUp Success Stories among the UT-based startup founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, and students and make them aware of challenges and opportunities for StartUp ideas here and how to overcome challenges and utilize opportunities in order to succeed as a StartUp founder besides raising funds from the outside world to validate StartUp ideas and business models.
Ridhima Arora is the founder of the StartUp “Namhya Foods” for making healthy food items with herbs and Ayurvedic ingredients. Namhya Foods is trying to rebuild the natural way of eating with the goodness of Indian herbs and natural ingredients.
Namhya is an effort to bring back the golden heritage of long-forgotten basic Indian foods that blend with today’s lifestyle. They have already touched more than 5 million people in just three years of existence. Namhya Foods has been covered on platforms like Shark Tank India, Josh Talks, TEDx, Better India, Your story, Business World Inc 42, Global Change Makers 2021 Google (As Digital Awards Winners).
Ridhima Arora talked about her StartUp journey as a founder and shared her thoughts, and experience on the theme of the webinar. She shared the sales and marketing strategy for StartUps and how startups can avail benefits of digital commerce through their own websites and platforms like Amazon, Big Basket, etc. She advised the StartUp founders to focus on consistency, hard work, building relationship with customers, product pricing and quality to become a successful StartUp founder and not to chase investors but rather build a sustainable StartUp with real revenues and profits.
The JKTPO under the aegis of the Department of Industries and Commerce has started a series of webinars in which virtual sessions will be organized every month on themes covering StartUp success stories from J&K, Founders Talks and Knowledge Talks with guest speakers from StartUp ecosystem.
JKTPO is working towards building a thriving StartUp ecosystem in J&K by promoting StartUp culture and fostering entrepreneurship spirit in collaboration with other departments and agencies in order to improve the overall startup ecosystem in J&K.
