Ex-MLA meets LG, seeks compensation for landowners in Kathua

Jammu, Aug 06: Apni Party Provincial Vice President, Jammu, and former MLA Prem Lal called on Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha on Tuesday.
During his meeting with the LG J&K, Prem Lal demanded compensation/rent for the landowners in Kathua district for the construction of a ditch-cum-band.
The Army has taken over possession of the land from the landowners and has not provided compensation/rent for the land that is being used for the ditch-cum-band construction,” he said in a statement.
Lal urged the LG J&K for his intervention so that the landowners could receive compensation/rent for the land, as the majority of them have no other source of income. “The compensation/rent for the land has been pending since the last 30 years (1996),” he informed the LG.
He also requested that the J-Form should be removed. The LG J&K gave him a patient hearing and assured him that he would look into the issue raised by the former MLA.
