EPFO issues 9 new Pension Payment Orders issued in Feb

Jammu, Feb 28: Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Regional Office, Jammu has initiated the process of settlement of pension claims from the offices of Jammu and Kashmir itself. In some cases, pension is being disbursed to the widow and family members of even such members in respect of whom pension contribution equivalent to one month pension has been remitted by the employer. 
Towards this, the office has settled a total of 9 pension claims in Jammu with an initial arrear amount Rs. 6,52,247 in the month of February 2023. “Pension claims were settled in r/o Late Zahoor Ahmed Sohil – Rubina Begum (Widow), Alena Yasmeen (Child), Ziyan Ahmed (Child), with the monthly pension amount being Rs. 2776, Rs. 694 and Rs. 694 respectively.”
“Pension claims were settled in r/o Late Darshan Lal– Chanchla Devi (Widow), Rakesh Kumar (Child) with the monthly pension amount being Rs. 2076 and Rs. 519. Pension claims were settled in r/o Manu Ji Hakoo with the monthly pension amount being Rs. 2066. Pension claim has also been settled in respect of Vijay Kumar with the monthly pension amount being Rs. 4122 who visited EPFO, Jammu on Tuesday to collect the PPO,” the EPFO said in a statement. 
EPFO, Jammu also processed cases of retirement pension claims in respect of Yash Paul with a monthly pension being Rs. 4311, Jagdish Raj with a monthly pension being Rs. 4231 and others.
Rizwan Uddin, Regional P.F. Commissioner (J&K and Ladakh), Sanjeev Kumar (EO/AO) Pritpal Singh (Assistant Section Officer) distributed the PPO to the Pensioners who visited Regional Office, Jammu.
In this context, it is pertinent to mention that the monthly pension is available to members if they have ten or more years of service under the Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 in one or more establishment(s). The eligible members may avail of Superannuation Pension by applying for the online claim through their UAN Login after attainment of 58 years of age. Provision of a monthly pension is also available to the family of EPS members in case of the unfortunate demise of an EPS member while in service. The family member(s) may avail monthly pension by applying offline claim through the employer of the deceased member. 
All the Pensioners, who visited EPFO, Jammu expressed their pleasure and appreciated the efforts made to team EPFO, Jammu in disbursing their monthly pension and arrears before the close of the month of February 2023.
